Minnesota Housing’s COVID-19 Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) is offering financial help to qualifying homeowners in need. To qualify, household income must be below 300 percent of federal poverty guidelines. CHAP offers help with housing-related expenses, including mortgages, utilities and more. Households with federally-backed mortgages are only eligible for CHAP if denied a forbearance; though they can still request assistance for utilities, association dues, or homeowners insurance.
